Canadians - don't use Myfax - Can't fax to Canadian 1-800 numbers

Can't fax to Canadian 1-800 numbers. Customer support does not even know this. When you push them long enough, they go to their supervisor and come back and acknowledge this to be true. Their suggestion was that we should simply call the company we are trying to fax and ask for their local line. I have switched, since most of our faxes are to Canadian 1-800 numbers and our new provider does not have this problem. What's particularly frustrating is that this used to be a Canadian company. Also - cancel and they keep charging. I have had to call 3 times. Still no refund and they're still charging.

MyFax is an abomination in this industry. I was charged for overuse. When I checked my usage there was no such overusage, even though the chat support tech said there was. He told me I probably went over on time, more than 60 seconds per page. I checked the transmission logs and all pages were under 60 seconds. I showed him this and he said, well I can't refund you so there! Outrageous thieves! *** in fact! DO NOT MAKE THE MISTAKE OF USING MYFAX. Aside from the theft - the actual service was absolutely *** poor. It took FIFTEEN attempts to send one fax, but they kept cutting off the call and charging me for the pages. This happened with various faxes to various organisations and personal fax machines. Complete abomination!

MyFax never attempted to get a hold of me as they are claiming. The only reason the account is closed is because they couldn't get my money anymore.

For the people that gave me a down arrow, good luck with them, you will see.

I had sent multiple emails trying to cancel over a few months, never could get anyone to answer on the chat window, even letting it sit there for 2 hours. I waited on the phone for almost 3 hours (used speaker phone) and got zero service. I just got off the phone with my bank, I had to cancel my current debit card number and get an entire new one just because of MyFax. Stay away from this company, they are crooks, period. There are free fax apps for android and apples smartphones, I use them and the security is better. If you have an issue with MyFax, I wish you luck.

Billed after the trial

I cannot complain about the quality or anything else as they're not so bad as they could be, but generally I didn't ask them to start billing me after the trial. When the trial was finished, I switched to www.popfax.com as they gave me the fax number I wanted and generally seem to be a nice service with a good mobile app and so on. And then I get a bill from Myfax telling me that I need to pay for the pack I didn't even used! So I went to their support and they told me I had to be more attentive and keep the track on my account, but why should I? They have to ask if I'm using this account or I'm willing to use it and so on. Not satisfied. Will be using only Popfax in future.

I decided that $10 a month was not a good deal for me and switched providers. Myfax had been a good service so I expected to cancel easily. There is no way to cancel without calling. But if you call, you must enter all sorts of information and then go through menus of number pushing which NEVER get you to a person who can help you cancel your account. So I went to the "chat" feature. The woman wanted to "chat" with me about why I was leaving. I said I was done chatting. They say they canceled the account - we will see. Be sure to save the text from any chat exchange.

Tried to cancel there fax service twice. They of course have no record and charged me another eight months. Horrible customer service when I called and they are very well trained to talk you in circles. Hopefully will dispute and get some money back. Sadly I must remember to never try these types of gimmicks that get you to sign up and then work hard to keep you on the hook. Was transferred around twice and the left me on hold to make a point. Working with Comcast is actually better than working with MyFax...yes that is hard to believe!!

They charged me for a year. Cancelled my account & kept my Money!

I had an account that was automatically charged for several years. I saw the charge again on my card. I called to cancel further charges. I asked them to refund my year that had been paid in advance, They said No Refunds. I then clarified that I would continue to receive service until the year I had paid for ran out & the supervisor said "yes". For the first time in years I needed to use the fax for my client & found out, my account was inactive, even though I was charged for it. Now customer service said it is not noted in my account to keep the account open, & they will charge me AGAIN if I want to use the rest of my year. Talk about BS!!! NEVER USE THIS COMPANY, complete rip off.

"Free Trial" "suspended". Reason unclear.

Signed up for "Free Trial" using a credit card provider I've been with for 16 years. It worked fine that day. Five (5) days later, I was unable to get a fax through. After 30 minutes, I called MyFax/eFax/J2 to find out what was going wrong. I was told: There was an issue with my credit card MyFax needed me to fax the front and back of my credit card to them I could not speak with their Credit/Fraud department despite the rep not being sure of any issue Since there was no payment due, I could not authorize the transaction. When I called back and asked for the request in writing, it stated they need my credit card STATEMENT with current address. 2nd FLAG. 1. Citibank has no flag on me/my account per Citibank 2. Citibank has my current info/address It doesn't sit well that a free trial would be halted for fraud when there is no evidence of said potential fraud and no payment due. I "cancelled" the trial and will keep checking to make sure they don't try to push a fee through.

Credit Card Charge Review

Buyer beware! Was incorrectly charged four times on my credit card. When I contacted MyFax, the rep assured me that those were wrong charges and would be refunded. The charges arise from a single fax that did not transmit properly. Now they will not refund the duplicate charges. Supervisor claims he has no control over refund approval. BUYER BEWARE! Take your business elsewhere.

Beware -canadian dollars, extra charges

Website doesn't mention Canadian dollars. I signed up and didn't notice anything offering Canadian dollars option, so it went through as US dollars. I had to phone in(and and declined to give out my credit info over the phone) to get account changed to Canadian dollars to avoid extra charges on my Visa card. Waited a long time on hold awhile, I don't know what for??? Also, when I called their toll free number it said there was web chat option. I hung up, forgot addy and tried to find it on the website, I could not find it on their regular website or the client area. I phoned again, listened for the addy, I typed in addy they said on phone and got to it. But it apparently is not manned on weekends. Their website says "Free email service - Your MyFax® service now includes a free hosted email service complete with filtering, blocking, out of office auto-reply, auto-forwarding, contacts, and calendar.", but there is no further info about that I can easily find. Not too impressed by their professionalism on the phone or certainly not their website and not too sure I am going to entrust my emails to a company such as this. I have unsubscribed at this time.

Can't cancel!! NO NOT TRUST their 'free' come on.

I signed up for the FREE?? TRIAL and myfax.com. When i did, i made SURE to see if they had a specific CANCEL path. That cancel path that I found when I first signed up: https://www.myfax.com/CANCEL - that path leads to SUPPORT ONLY!! ANY time a company says 'free' and then they ask for a credit card up front? It's apparent that they are relying on the passivity of the user. What that means is that they are less than confident in thier product. They are not looking to BUILD A BRAND, they are looking to bill you - period. Using their own weblink for cancelling https://www.myfax.com/CANCEL - it doesnt link to any type of cancelling, it leads to support, which then has NO link for cancel. This, my friends, is a pure and simple, low class, get your credit card and bill you, kind of internet scumbaggery. So, if it's SO easy to sign up - and canceling is a mutlistep process? Then what we have is a guy in his garage with a server. Maybe his mom is answering the phones...
