Tried to cancel account for 2 months-kept charging my acct.

I tried for 2 months to get an email to MyFax, speak with a customer service rep or the online chat rep, all with no success. I waited 32 minutes on the first call to customer service and 22 the second time. The second time they finally got on the line. The person on the line barely spoke English and was very rude regarding my cancellation. She refused to do anything for me regarding refund. The last charge was for 3 months and her only offer was to keep the account active till the end of the month. This is the 3rd time I have dealt with MyFax and it will be the last time. If there is a way to spread the news regarding this totally unethical company, I will absolutely do it. They do not even have a clue what customer service means. Very very bad.

Continued renewal after I cancelled

Myfax is one of the most unethical companies I have ever dealt with. Once they have your credit card number you are their hostage. I even changed my credit card number and they still were able to charge. They claimed the only way they would honor a cancellation is if I had a cancellation confirmation email. However, I did not know that was a requirement until they renewed - a year later. I contacted them as soon as the charge appeared on my card - for services not yet rendered. They refused to reverse the charges and offered for me to use the service for the year that I had paid for. I haven't used that service since 2010!!. Do business with Myfax at your own risk!!

Same as all the other complaints, they simply will not cancel.

I have been trying to cancel since January and now it is November. supposedly it has been cancelled but it still shows up on the credit card each month. and of course they say they have no record of the 5 previous cancellations. Only use this company if you want months of aggravation, and waste money then please be my guest!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Avoid like a plague, as they will infect your credit card. Contact your credit card company to disallow the charges or reverse them while you are fighting with these rip-off artists. Keep your own records of each chat and phone conversation. They will deny ever speaking to you, but it will you feel better.

Incredibly difficult to close account, refuse to refund money

This company is terrible. I signed up for a free trial and forgot to cancel it. When I tried to cancel it after this I was told I could not do it without the fax number, I could not even contact customer service without the fax number. After over 3 weeks of trying, I finally got through to them, and had them cancel my account, yet they still charged me for another month of service. I sent exactly one fax through them when I did the free trial, yet they refused to refund the fee for the second month, even though it was entirely their fault that they refused to cancel my service. This is a terrible company, stay far away from them.

Test Fax to myselft never received/Sent fax took 4 days

I sent myself two "test" faxes which I never received and the one fax I sent to another number (whole reason I needed a fax number) took FOUR days to come in. By then the office had received the hard copy I mailed. They charge my account for the first month anyway. The customer "chat" said available 24/7 which they were NOT and the number they gave me to call to cancel was a little time consuming but not impossible. Maybe I got lucky because I got a real person the first time. RIP OFF> mad mad mad mad mad mad. Is that 100 words now??

Here's how I cancelled (still too difficult)

First off, Myfax is designed to make cancellations difficult. They recommend you contact their "available any time" chat representatives. Well, they weren't available. And they never responded to the two messages I sent them. I called the N. America support line and it was a maze of options of which none led to a customer service rep. So, after dead-ending 5 times I called back the sixth and just started spam pushing zero. When connected with John I asked how he was doing (secret tip CSRs are treated like *** at worst and typically treated like cogs). I stated that I would like to cancel my subscription as well as why. I wished him to have a good evening. I received a cancellation notice in my email the next morning. -Magic

Incredibly Difficult to Cancel

I created an account because I needed occasional faxes to be sent but it turns out there's a file size limit of 18MB which is just too small for what I need so I decided to cancel it before my credit card was charged. I tried calling the number but was put on hold and eventually disconnected. Next I checked their FAQ "How do I cancel my account" and it says "click here to chat with a representative (available 24/7)." I click the button and wait a little bit and a lady finally gets on and I tell her I would like to cancel my account and she says "You'll have to call support" and closes the chat immediately. I reopen the chat and try again and this time they transfer me to another rep as soon as I give them my fax number and without asking anything this guy says he'd be happy to assist me in cancelling my account. This, apparently, is a very hard process because it took 30 minutes of me "holding please" while he "cancelled my account" before he finally confirmed that it was, in fact, cancelled. I'm looking forward to my credit card statement this month...

Hard (impossible ?) to cancel

Wanted to cancel my acount as I don't use it. Just spent 25 minutes on international phone call with somebody that finally "could not" cancel my acount... Is this a scam or what ? Serious services offer the opportunity to cancel account online, right ?! Will I have to cancel my cc for they stop charging me ? I don't want to enter 100 words. No reason for this. Misleading Information to cancel account

I got an account with MyFax somewhere around the beginning of 2013. We don't send or receive many faxes, but knew that we needed a solution for those occasional times when it is necessary. In planning to leave the USA for the summer, I wanted to cancel our account which was being charged $10/month. I emailed them. THe response I received was to call to cancel the account. When I called I was forced through a limited automated system that had no way of either canceling my account or talking to a real person. The email said I had to call. What am I supposed to do once I call? We left the country and thus had no access to USA 800 telephone numbers. Finally, I got access to a phone through Vonage that could call as if I was in the States. And so, I called again. And again I could find no way to cancel. I went back to the website and fished around. Finally I found out I could chat to close the account, 2 months later! It was extremely easy to open my account, why is it so hard to close it? Here is the transcript of my chat: Please wait for a site operator to respond. You are not currently in a chat session. You are not currently in a chat session. All operators are currently assisting others. Thanks for your patience. An operator will be with you shortly. Thank You, for contacting MyFax support my name is Rachel P. Can I start by getting your account number or fax number please? Jon: 1xxxxxxxxxx Please cancel my account Rachel P: I am very sorry to hear that you wish to cancel your account. Can I ask you for the reason you are looking to cancel your account today? Jon: I actually wanted to cancel the account 2 months ago, but you have made that extremely difficult. Jon: We do not need the expense as we are not using the service Rachel P: I can certainly help you with your account cancellation request. Before we begin however, I will need to verify the account you are referencing. Can you please provide me with the last 4 digits of the credit card we have on file for you? Jon: xxxx Rachel P: Your account has been cancelled, as requested. You will receive a confirmation of this via email shortly. If you change your mind and wish to reactivate your service, you can contact us anytime in the next 90 days and we can reactivate the account for you. Are there any other issues that I can assist you with today? Jon: I would like a refund for the past 2 months Rachel P: I am sorry, the service is nonrefundable. I am showing one cancellation attempt in May, we replied back advising you to call or go on Live Support. Rachel P: I am not showing any further cancellation request. Jon: Before I left the country, I emailed to cancel my account. The reply back was that I had to call to cancel. I called but was never able to get through. Then, when I finally got through I could fine no way to cancel via your automated system Rachel P: I am sorry, the service is nonrefundable. Jon: It was extremely easy to open my account, why is it so hard to close it? Rachel P: We do provide two options to close, over the phone or through Live Chat. We are open 24 hours. Jon: Thank you. I will make sure to review and share my account services experience with others as I am a travel writer. Please let your supervisor know. Rachel P: Have a good day. Jon: The email I received never ONCE said I could chat to close my account. It only said I had to call. That does not work. Stay away from MyFax!!!!!!

Good luck ever getting someone to answer the phone at MyFax. There is no way to ask for a representative, agent, customer service....etc. The 0 button doesn't work. I had to stay on the phone for over 20 minutes trying to get a hold of a live person. I just went through every option until I didn’t get an automated response. When you do get a hold of a person, good luck dealing with them on a rationale level as they are extremely rude. I have spoken to multiple representatives there & have always hung up feeling beyond frustrated. There is no need for people in any business to raise their voice with a customer, especially when the customer is not being belligerent. Every time I go to login to the website, my login information will not work. Sometimes it takes me up to 10 times to get logged in (& yes, I am using the correct login information). The processing time that it takes MyFax to send & receive faxes is absolutely ridiculous. Their system is not secure enough to send faxes with my company & they will not let us port our phone # out because they OWN the number, even though we have had service with them for over 2 years. If you even attempt to try & transfer the number to another carrier, they will fine you $500 but don’t expect them to disclose that information to you over the phone. I had to find it online myself. They will not allow you to pay a porting fee like other carriers do. Some even do it for FREE! Their policy is just ridiculous. Just make sure that you read their fine print before signing up for any services with them. You won’t find these important details on their FAQ’s page. Rather, you will have to google MyFax’s legal terms & then you can find out about them. Save yourself a lot of headache & go with another carrier. There are so many reputable companies out there & this is not one of them. If only I had done my due diligence & researched the company before signing up with them, I would be in a much happier position now. I can’t emphasize enough how awful they are to communicate with. When I expressed my frustration, their response was to lodge a complaint against them with the FCC. They have no sense of customer service. I now have to reorder all new stationery that will cost me over $500 and deal with sending out a letter to my current client base giving them the new fax #. MyFax has cost me a lot of time, energy, & money. I am just hoping now that I won’t have to deal with any further issues to cancel my services with them, but I know that will most likely not be the case.

I cannot cancel my account, and they continue to charge my cc

I cannot cancel my account, and they continue to charge my cc, even i did not selected any paid plan. I had a trial, which i never used, and now i realize, they charge me every month for using their service. My old account id and password does not work, i tried to restore my password, but i don't recieve any emails, even in spam folder, and i cannot contact the support. I don't want to cancel my credit card only because i cannot cancel my account on this *** service. Maybe i should contact my bank, and tell them about fraud?
