I had the same experience. I signed up for Metrofax yesterday afternoon, and went to log into it this morning.

Less than 24 hours after I signed up. Confused as to why my login credentials werent working, I called customer support; they told me my account was "suspended for fraud," and required me to give them a copy of my credit card statement, or a picture of my credit card. When I asked them why my account was suspended for fraud, they couldn't give me a reason. I hadn't even utilized the service yet!

Indeed, he said he saw no activity on my account, but repeated again, that I needed to send him a picture of my statement, or my credit card.

Nope nope nope. Sorry, I'll find someone else who wants $8 a month for fax service.

Myfax - Definitely a scam

Back in January I signed up for MY FAX and called to cancel 2-3 days later. Unfortunately, I missed the fact that company has been charging my debit for five months including May 9 for the month thru June 9. I know I called to cancel back then, but customer service refuses to do anything about charges. I have no way to prove that I called. Services were never used, not even during trial. My home phone provider has no way of pulling up calls made by me so I'm out of luck. Guess I should have checked back to make sure I was not charged.

The Myfax service is terrible - like most people on here Myfax refuses to cancel making it nearly impossible to cancel the subscription. There is no option to cancel through the online account mangament tab and dispite my requests to cancel they then billed me anyway and have refused point blank to refund the money they have illegally taken from my account. Any company that behaves and acts in this manor should be avoided at all costs. I will be discussing with my credit card provider to see if I can raise a fraud case against this company. DO NOT USE MYFAX.COM!

A few days after opening an account with them, I tried several times to log in but my account could not be found. I called and the rep stated that an email was sent to be... which I never received... stating that my account was closed due to credit card verification, asking that I send them bank statements and front & back pics of my cc to Finance in order for them to Reactivate my account. I felt that was too extreme for a simple subscription and told him I was no longer interested. Definitely seemed sketchy, therefore, I don't recommend!

I cannot complain about the quality or anything else as they're not so bad as they could be, but generally I didn't ask them to start billing me after the trial. When the trial was finished, I switched to www.popfax.com as they gave me the fax number I wanted and generally seem to be a nice service with a good mobile app and so on. And then I get a bill from Myfax telling me that I need to pay for the pack I didn't even used! So I went to their support and they told me I had to be more attentive and keep the track on my account, but why should I? They have to ask if I'm using this account or I'm willing to use it and so on. Not satisfied. Will be using only Popfax in future.

Myfax - They charged me for a year. Cancelled my account & kept my Money!

I had an account that was automatically charged for several years. I saw the charge again on my card. I called to cancel further charges. I asked them to refund my year that had been paid in advance, They said No Refunds. I then clarified that I would continue to receive service until the year I had paid for ran out & the supervisor said "yes". For the first time in years I needed to use the fax for my client & found out, my account was inactive, even though I was charged for it. Now customer service said it is not noted in my account to keep the account open, & they will charge me AGAIN if I want to use the rest of my year. Talk about BS!!! NEVER USE THIS COMPANY, complete rip off.

Myfax - Beware -canadian dollars, extra charges

Website doesn't mention Canadian dollars. I signed up and didn't notice anything offering Canadian dollars option, so it went through as US dollars. I had to phone in(and and declined to give out my credit info over the phone) to get account changed to Canadian dollars to avoid extra charges on my Visa card. Waited a long time on hold awhile, I don't know what for??? Also, when I called their toll free number it said there was web chat option. I hung up, forgot addy and tried to find it on the website, I could not find it on their regular website or the client area. I phoned again, listened for the addy, I typed in addy they said on phone and got to it. But it apparently is not manned on weekends. Their website says "Free email service - Your MyFax® service now includes a free hosted email service complete with filtering, blocking, out of office auto-reply, auto-forwarding, contacts, and calendar.", but there is no further info about that I can easily find. Not too impressed by their professionalism on the phone or certainly not their website and not too sure I am going to entrust my emails to a company such as this. I have unsubscribed at this time.

Myfax.com does not work well and after you try and cancel it is almost impossible as they ask for these codes that I have no idea what they are. Everytime I try and chat with support I get: Please wait while I transfer the chat to the best suited site operator. very frustrating and no way to cancel. I expect I have to cancel the card and report myfax.com as fraud as they are not able to process and cancel an account. The support is also terrible and service does not work reliably. The worst thing is I keep getting charged.

Myfax - Account Cancellation Doom Loop

Been trying to cancel our account for several months as we don't use it. We don't even know the fax number - because we never used the service.... 1. Since we don't know the fax number we cant log into our account 2. Sent a letter to Customer Service to get fax umber, but they cant find account - referred to billing 3. Call billing & get voice prompt - can only get an operator with ...yup, the fax number! 4. Finally called number on credit card statement (management company is a Canadian Telco).... who cancelled by looking up my credit card. 5. Would not credit back to original cx. request because no markers on my account - because they couldn't find my account! My Fax is at worst a scam - at best a desperate corporate strategy to "collar" customers into monthly revenue....which is a huge sign of impending bankruptcy.

Myfax - Problems cancelling account over several months period

After several months of attempting to cancel this account and lodging a complaint in regards to the poor customer service. I have called several times and have been on hold for at least 20 minutes and unable to speak to a representative until today. I have not used the service in several months and have still been charged for this even though the fact that your phone service disconnects the call, which does not allow me to be able to cancel the service. This is very poor service, as well as the fact that you do not refund customers for service not used and unable to cancel due to your system. I was able to speak with a customer service rep today who did provide professional and timely service, so that was the one plus of my interaction with your company so far. I asked him if I could speak with a supervisor and was transferred, but put on hold for another 10-15 minutes. The supervisor (Megan, ID 7365) did inform me that she will relay this issue with the system/delayed wait times, to the engineering department. Myfax - Impossible to Cancel-Unethical-Rude

I signed up for the 30 day trial and attempted to cancel it within the 30 days. I was dropped from chat a couple of times because of being "transferred", could not get through on the phone, received a return email that I could not cancel via email and to try the methods I already explained had failed. I was treated rudely after spending WAY more than $10 worth of MY time, and because I couldn't get through within the 30 days despite trying, I was charged for a "service" that is by no means a service. Myfax - Very difficult to cancel account DO NOT MAKE ONE

They force you into entering your Credit Card Details and then make it impossible for you to cancel the account! I have currently waited 40 minutes for somebody to take my call. I hat companies that operate like this! I will never use you again! I would rather post my mail! I´m still waiting for their service now and I don´t understand why companies like these are still around as they belong to the old school thinking of the early 80s where it was all about forcing consumers into doing things, but this is 2014 and we should not have to deal with such companies anymore!

A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT will entitle us consumers who have all been wrongfully charged by this group to a refund and possible damages for their willful negligence and theft of our funds. Feel free to respond to this post if interested.

MYFAX has never been used for us as immediate request/cancellation was made within one hour of signing up, as we did not need this service.

Our login does not work, however they continue to bill as request for cancellation this action has been made since NOV 2013, it is now May 2014.

Final request with demand for proper action has been placed, however the company still refuses.

Next step, CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT. (POST NUMBER 486512)
